End Of Summer Look

So we all know that sadly, summer is ending. Well at least for us college students! I start classes this week to be precise. My younger sister was my model today because I did not have enough time to do two outfits today! Her outfit is actually new. Dress from Target only 24 dollars and shoes 29.99. I think Iyana did that what do you guys think?

Style Diary: Fall LookBook Kinda 90s Grunge Style(Don't you Love Thrifting?)

I am kinda excited to talk about this picture because technically this whole outfit is secondhand except my sunglasses, shirt, and shoes, which were from Target. In Chicago we have so many cute little thrift stores and I wanted to get something that looked grunge and fashion-y without spending a ton of money. That's really the goal for being a college student. Most of the things you find at thrift stores are authentic. My leather skirt is actually 100% leather nothing fake and I only got it for 6 dollars at the thrift store. My oversized flannel checkered red shirt is not really a shirt, because on the inside it has coat material which is great for a fall look. My necklace came from my favorite online store: Choies!

My fashion tip of the day is try to mix and match. Do not always go to the thrift store and do not always shop in regular stores put them together!

Style Diary: Fall LookBook 70s Chic

This is a part of my Fall LookBook for 2015! Photo credit to my little sister Iyahyah! I got my Betsey Johnson Faux Fur white sleeveless coat and the rest of my outfit is from Target! Such a great way for going back to school as college students. As college students we have to save money and this is one of my trendy but savvy outfits.

Dorothy Dandridge

I never really knew about Dorothy Dandridge until my sister said something abut her today. Honestly, I was always admired Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn, but I never really knew about Dorothy Dandridge she seems like an inspiring and person. I believe around her time she was not as popular because the color of her skin. Well, this just goes to show how little we know about our own culture. I know that I am not the only one that did not know about Dorothy Dandridge. A lot of people that are African American do not really know about her either. We idolize Audrey and Marilyn, not that it is a bad thing, but we do not know anything about Dorothy Dandridge. That is the saddest thing to me because her legacy died with her. That she wanted African American women to have the same recognition as other women. Like even with the natural hair movement and craze it is still sad that after years of having curly and coarse hair we have only recently learned how to maintain it and care for it. As women we are all caused to rise and when we are determined we cannot be stopped. Like with my blog I could easily give up but I am determined to keep pushing. My drive is strong and I cannot stop and I will not stop.
