Hey wassup it's been a while...(cue the "Like I Would" by Zayn), but seriously hi FancyMouseketeers (yes to me it's one word!) So today I am going to touch on street style, dressing up, and being chill. Well, not all in one, but you know what I mean. Street Style is really popular right now and some say (and I agree) that it was founded on the streets of New York. Today, all I had to do was literally go to this place on Chicago ave. and take a drug test... BUT I was feeling fashion-y today (sorry for the made up words!) Yet, I did not want to go all out. And for someone who loves the Oscar Wilde quote "You are never overeducated or overdressed..." that usually would not have scared me, but I wanted to go for something that said, "yes I am a fashionista, but I do know how to tone it down some days..." (sounds like a lot huh? Yeah I know...). Everyone loves street style and in some ways it is very chill but I still wanted to be comfy. I don't know why I wanted to be so comfy, but we all have those days when we really don't feel like wearing spanx or waist trainers (free that fluffiness!). So here is how I combined the two today:
First off, for people like me who love and embrace their fluffy tummies on some days (like I did today) and despise them the next (waist training like Kim K right?) I chose a flowy graphic Minnie Mouse shirt (she's the Fanciest Mouse). I would say a loose graphic tee is perfect for a daytime look anyways because you're just being you and enjoying the chilly 50 degree Chicago weather. Also, because if you're going for a laid back look then there's no need for a bustier or peplum top at 3 pm. Next, my jeans are not really jeans. They're really super soft stretchy material jeggings. I know that seems like so last year ago, and I would love to be rocking so cool form fitting mom jeans, but for a laid back look you want something that doesn't make you feel uncomfortable. Lastly, I chose some flats. I mean, I could have chosen some superb Manolo heels (yeah right, in my dreams lol...), but I chose flats. If you look close enough you can also see that I played with patterns just a tad bit. My jeans were patterned and my flats were cheetah print, and yet they do not clash at all. I love jewelry so imagine how hard it was for me to just wear earrings! A good pair of chunky earrings and a classic shoulder bag is the best laid back street style-y (what's up with the "-y" I don't know) way to go trust me. It makes you feel like you're being daring, but not so daring that it overwhelms your look. Well, there you have it FancyMouseketeer, and even if you're just reading this you are now a FancyMouseketeer. And just for fun here is my outfit in a Polaroid pic (sorry it's dim!):
